Rovers vs Rotherham United – Match Preview

@lukerovers85 looks at tonight’s clash against Rotherham United in the Sky Bet League 1.

Another tough test as Rovers face a Rotherham side trying to get a good run going, much like Rovers.

After two poor performances & just one point from a possible six Rovers will be looking to put things right when they face Rotherham United at Ewood Park tonight.

Team news

Ben Gladwin becomes the latest player to join the injury list, as the midfielder picked up a minor thigh injury. He joins Rekeem Harper, Craig Conway (both hip), Darragh Lenihan (foot) & Scott Wharton (ankle) on the sidelines. One player who is closing in on a return is Ryan Nyambe (ankle) with the full back due to get game time against Cardiff City U23s on Friday night.

The Millers are without long term absentee Jamie Proctor but could welcome defender Shaun Cummings back into contention whilst Joshua Emmanuel is rated touch & go for this game.

The two teams’ form

There’s little to choose between the two sides in the table with Rotherham one place (8th) & two points (15) above Rovers in the league standings. Both sides know where the net is & with both teams in similar form, we could be in for quite a thrilling game.

Last league meeting at Ewood: 2016/17. Rovers 4-2 Rotherham.

Scorers: CONWAY (22), EMNES (29), MARSHALL (46), GALLAGHER (90). Ward (12, 83).

One to remember: 2002/03- Millers mauled by rampant Rovers in Worthington Cup.

Rovers 4-0 Rotherham United

Scorers: YORKE (12,39), COLE (16), DUFF (43).

Prediction: Rovers 2-1 Rotherham.

Rovers scores: Dack and Bennett

Rotherham scorers: Moore.

Share with me your thoughts on this game & of course anything involving Blackburn Rovers. Hopefully, we’ll all be heading home happy with three points in the bag.

Don’t miss all our build up to tonight’s game.
